New Tisdale CAO

Tisdale hires new Chief Administrative Officer

Jul 29, 2024 | 10:00 AM

The Town of Tisdale has hired their new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

Lovely Magnaye will take over the position in late August. She and her family will move to Tisdale from Wynyard, where she had experience in municipal administration with the town.

Tisdale mayor Al Jellicoe told northeastNOW her experience in the town office was a big selling point.

“She’s been in the administration part for 10 years…she’s proven that she can work as an individual, as part of a team, and she can get things done,” said Jellicoe, who added council was impressed with Magnaye and chose her to fill the position.

Jellicoe said the CAO has many different jobs, including budgets, bylaws, policies, handling provincial and federal grants, and dealing with many of the questions from the public.

“(The CAO) keeps all the departments organized and keeps the town going forward,” explained Jellicoe.

Magnaye will replace former CAO Brad Hvidston, who held the role for 16 years before moving to Yorkton to become city manager.

Jellicoe said they wanted his replacement to have some experience in administration as well.

“Council is looking forward to having her start.”
