Nipawin Fire Department responds to baler fire near community

Fire crews in Nipawin didn’t escape the long weekend without going to work.

They were called to a baler fire northeast of Nipawin.

Crews were able to put out the equipment fire and cool hot spots in the area.

The Nipawin Fire Department credits the operator for dropping the baler portion from the tractor in a clear area.

Fire crews only had to use one truck of water to suppress the fire thanks to the quick action.

It’s the Nipawin Fire Department’s first harvest-related call of the year and their 106th call thus far in 2024.
