Broncos send rights of Tim Kim to Drayton Valley

Aug 23, 2024 | 4:10 PM

The Humboldt Broncos have traded away the CJHL (Canadian Junior Hockey League) rights for Tim Kim.

Kim’s rights now belong to the Drayton Valley Thunder of the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League).

In return, the Broncos are receiving a PDF (player development fee) and future considerations.

During his one season in Humboldt, Kim was quite the productive forward.

Back in the 2022/23 campaign, the then 18-year-old recorded 45 points (13G, 32A) in 48 regular season games, to go along with nine points in 10 playoff games (three goals and six assists).

This past year, the Vancouver, B.C. native spent time in the NCDC (National Collegiate Development Conference), which is part of the USPHL (United States Premier Hockey League).

The five-foot-ten, 174-pounder also played in the NAHL (North American Hockey League).

Kim split his time in the NCDC between the Idaho Falls Spud Kings and Provo Predators, registering the same stat line with each team (two goals and six assists, good for eight points in eight games).

Then, with the Anchorage Wolverines in the NAHL, he produced three goals and nine assists, for 12 points in 16 contests, with an additional two assists in five postseason matches.

In a statement made by the Broncos, they ‘thanked Kim for his time in Humboldt and wished him all the best’.
