Pair of murder cases in the Melfort area return to court in October

Two local murder cases continue to make their way through the court system.

Cody Chubey’s case will return to court Oct. 15.

Chubey, 35, remains in custody after being charged with second-degree murder after the death of his long-term partner Danielle Dobersheck in Melfort in March.

Meanwhile, a Naicam man charged with killing a relative will also have his case back in court Oct. 15.

Fifty-seven-year-old Kevin Swanson was charged with second-degree murder after Dennis Swanson, 81, was pronounced dead at a home on Third Ave. N. in Naicam May 2.
