Mustangs acquire draft pick for defenseman

The Melfort Mustangs have dealt a blueliner to a division rival.

The Mustangs traded 2006 defenseman Dmitri Toporowski to the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

In exchange, Melfort receives a Player Development Fee (PDF) and a 2010-born second-round selection in the 2025 SJHL draft.

The Massachusetts-born defender played two games with the Mustangs this season, with two penalty minutes.
