Oct 7, 2024 | 2:13 PM

The Melfort Mustangs remain in the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s (CJHL) Top 20 rankings.

The Mustangs fell three spots to number 10 in the CJHL rankings after a week in which they sustained their first loss of the season.

Melfort dropped a 3-1 decision at home to the Melville Millionaires on Friday night in the first of their home-and-home series. The Mustangs avenged that loss with a 4-3 overtime win on Saturday in Melville.

Reilly Kotai scored the game winner, his second tally in the game, on the power play in overtime.

The Mustangs’ record is now 5-1 on the season.

Melville stayed steady in the CJHL rankings at number six, and they’re 5-0-1 in 2024-25.

The Yorkton Terriers dropped nine spots to number 12 and are 5-1 in their six games.

The Rockland Nationals of the CCHL stay in the top spot of the rankings after starting their season 8-0.

The Mustangs will look to keep their strong start going as they travel to Flin Flon Friday in the first game of a home-and-home against the 4-3-1 Bombers.
