Oct 11, 2024 | 12:00 PM

Some turnover in local communities as more council nomination lists are being released.

Carrot River will have a new mayor, as former councillor Carrie Neigel has been acclaimed in the role.

Incumbent mayor Roman Charko is not running in the municipal election.

Incumbent councillors Chris Bergen, Neil Wasko, and Evan Wolowski are being challenged by Donald Anthony, D. Scott Debienne, Kendall Friske and Andrew Kavanagh.

In Hudson Bay, Betty Lou Palko will return to the mayor’s chair as she was the only one to declare her candidacy.

Councillors Alexis Armit, Meagan Dickson, Brent Dyck, Sherry Pilon, and Kelly Stonehouse are running again.

Also seeking councillor positions are Randy Anderson, Tim Bank, and Dean Hanson.

All candidates in the Town of Watson are acclaimed.

Bruce Nordick will be the mayor, as he was the only candidate to declare his nomination.

He will replace Norma Weber, who is not running in the election.

Incumbent councillors Mike Brost, Aron Friesen, Lindsey Sobchyshyn and Jeff Turchyn will be joined at the council table by Glenn McKenna and Inga MacLaine.

The municipal election will be held Nov. 13.
