Fire near Wakaw

One person receives burns after fast-moving fire near Wakaw

A patient was taken to hospital with burns after a fire near Wakaw.

Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue and Cudworth/Hoodoo Fire Rescue were called to a yard fire 10 kilometres west of Wakaw off Highway 41 on Tuesday morning.

According to Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue, multiple structures were involved with the fast-spreading fire, thanks to strong wind at the time.

Crews were on scene for three hours with two engines, two tankers, one wildland truck and one command unit.

The fire department thanked Wakaw and District EMS and Wakaw RCMP for responding to the fire.
