He has been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medal for his contributions to Saskatchewan, and the Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association Municipal Long Service Medal for the over three decades of work.
The services of Captain Randy Martin were also celebrated at the event. Martin received the Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal for 20 years of work in the fire service. All of that service has been with the Melfort Fire Department.
