A three-game weekend road sweep for the Tisdale Trojans has moved them up the standings in the Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League.

Tisdale kicked off the weekend with a 3-2 victory in Yorkton over the Kinsmen Maulers Friday night.

Tisdale led 2-0 after one period with goals from Ramy Borowsky and Jacob Tait.

The Trojans made it 3-0 in the second with a Carter Geysen goal. His eighth of the season turned out to be the game winner, as Yorkton rallied to make it close.

Wyatt Fleishhacker made 31 saves in the victory.

The Trojans travelled to Regina and came away with a 4-3 win over the Pat Canadians on Saturday.

Five goals were scored in a busy first period, with Sean Shiels and Nate Jensen staking Tisdale to a 2-0 lead.

After a Regina goal, Wyatt Jordan made it 3-1, and a Pat C’s goal made it 3-2 heading into the second.

Regina tied it in the second period, but a powerplay goal by Blake Girard gave Tisdale the 4-3 win.

Jackson Dunn stopped 31 shots in net for the Trojans.

Tisdale closed out their 3-0 weekend with a 5-4 shootout win over the Notre Dame Hounds.

Another hot start for Tisdale staked them to a 2-0 lead after one period, on goals from Pryce Thiessen and Sean Shiels.

The teams traded goals in the second, with Parker Salisbury’s tally making it 3-1 Trojans after two.

Notre Dame scored three unanswered goals to take a 4-3 lead in the third, but a powerplay goal by Preston Hoppe with less than two minutes left sent the game to overtime.

A Sean Shiels shootout goal gave the Trojans the win, while Wyatt Fleishhacker stopped all three shootout attempts for Tisdale.

He had 25 saves in the win.

With the three wins on the weekend, the Trojans improved to 5-5-5 on the season.

They’re back in action Wednesday as they host the 7-7 Warman Wildcats.
