Mustangs win chippy start to home-and-home set
The Melfort Mustangs pushed their win streak to nine games on Friday night, in what was an event-filled, chippy affair with the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
For La Ronge’s first visit to Melfort this season, no love was lost between the two division rivals, with the home team eventually walking away victorious, by a score of 6-2.
Multiple 10-minute misconducts were handed out, two players got kicked out for fighting, and Kristian Coombs even got run over.
“Battling out there with everyone is always pretty intense, and it’s also pretty good,” said Mustang newcomer Ashton Paul, who played part of last season in Flin Flon.
