PA to host U-18 provincial curling playdowns

The province’s best U-18 curlers will hit the pebbled ice at the Prince Albert Curling Centre later this month.

The city is playing host to the provincial playdowns with a total of nine girls teams and six boys teams competing.

Secretary of the host committee, Pat Bibby, said the field includes high calibre athletes including past champions looking to defend their provincial titles.

“It will be great curling. The level of competition for U-18 has really risen in the last few years. Several of the teams were here for the U-18 bonspiel in November, and were very impressive with their skills,” Bibby said.

The champions will represent Saskatchewan at the U-18 Nationals February 16-22, 2025 in Saskatoon.
