Over 800 pounds of food donated to Melfort Food Bank after Battle of the Badges
The winner of the second annual Battle of the Badges in Melfort has been announced, but ultimately the winner is the Melfort Food Bank and its clients.
The battle between the Melfort RCMP and Melfort Fire Department is over, and it was announced that 814 pounds of food was delivered to the food bank.
The organization with bragging rights this year is the Fire Department, which brought in slightly more food than the RCMP.
“The RCMP is happy to be a part of any initiative that benefits the community in any way and the food bank is a valuable resource for members of the community that rely upon it.,” said Staff Sgt. Ryan Case. “Kudos to Chief Whitney for organizing this year’s initiative and congrats to the Melfort Fire Department on the win.”
