More extreme cold warnings for many parts of Saskatchewan
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued extreme cold warnings for many parts of the province on Friday afternoon.
ECCC said that an Arctic ridge of high pressure will settle in over southern Saskatchewan on Friday night, giving way to cold temperatures for parts of the southern Prairies and northern grain belt until early Saturday morning.
Air temperatures will dip towards -30 C tonight and combine with winds up to 15 km/h leading to very cold wind chill temperatures near -40 C, ECCC said.
Conditions will gradually improve on Saturday morning.
