$1.5M in charitable gaming grants awarded across Sask, include Meadow Lake and Prince Albert
More than 700 community groups and organizations, including those in Meadow Lake, Prince Albert, and the Humboldt-Melfort area, have received a share of $1.5 million in charitable gaming grants in the third quarter of 2024-25, Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan (LGS) announced on Wednesday.
One recipient, the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, will use the funds to support pediatric and maternal health services.
“These funds help ensure children and moms-to-be have access to family-centred programs, world-class equipment and innovative technology at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and across the province,” foundation CEO Troy Davies said in a release.
Groups in about 200 communities received funding, with more than $431,000 going to Regina-based groups and over $280,000 to Saskatoon organizations. Other regions benefited as well, including:
