The United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative Limited (UFA) continues its expansion in Saskatchewan with the announcement of a new cardlock location west of Regina.

UFA announced construction of the new facility in the Global Transportation Hub Authority (GTH), an independent inland port authority. GTH is already home to a one million square foot Loblaw Distribution Centre, CPKC Rail’s intermodal facility, and the future home of Cargill’s new canola processing facility.

UFA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Don Smith it’s committed to expanding its fuel network.

“The GTH is a strategic location that provides UFA with the unique opportunity to offer fueling options for commercial vehicles operating from this vital hub,” Smith said.

The facility will include high-speed satellite pumps, wide lanes and a large parking lot with overnight amenities, including shower and washroom facilities.

GTH President and CEO Daniel Hersche said this will bring together the necessary infrastructure to drive import and export capabilities, supporting long-term economic success and sustainability for Saskatchewan.

“The addition of a UFA Petroleum Cardlock will ensure operations within the GTH have convenient and reliable access to the fuel they need to keep their business running,” Hersche said.

The new cardlock is the sixth location announced as part of UFA’s multi-phased expansion strategy and will be the co-operative’s ninth location in the province.

Founded in 1909, UFA is an Alberta-based agricultural co-operative with more than 120,000 member-owners. UFA’s network is comprised of 117 Petroleum locations, 34 Farm & Ranch Supply stores, six fertilizer plants and a support office located in Calgary, Alta.

Independent Petroleum Agents and more than 1,100 UFA employees provide products and services to farmers, ranchers, members and commercial customers in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
