Bowl for Kids Sake raises $18,000 for Humboldt BBBS

Feb 20, 2025 | 2:24 PM

Another successful Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser for Humboldt Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS).

The event, one of their major fundraisers of the year, was held at Kemway Lanes in Humboldt.

This year’s fundraiser was a lot of fun, according to Program Lead Jillina Beaudoin. This year’s theme was Farmer in the Lane, a take on Farmer in the Dell.

“The event went great,” said Beaudoin. “It was so fun to see everyone dressed up in their best farmer outfits.”

She said they had roughly 90 bowlers take part, not including the school group, just shy of what they’ve had in previous years.

Despite having fewer bowlers take part, the event brought in a lot of money for Humboldt BBBS. They raised $18,000 during the event last week, and Beaudoin sent a special shout-out to the Muenster School grades three, four, five, and six, who raised a record-breaking $10,100.

“All money raised goes directly towards our programming,” she explained. “From activities to craft supplies to volunteer recruitment and program promotion.”

Beaudoin said all money raised stays in the community, and added that Humboldt and area have stepped up to make the event successful year after year.

“We couldn’t do what we do without the support from the community. I am so grateful for our community -the bowlers for showing up with pledges, the sponsors for giving back to their community, those who donated prizes and silent auction items, and even those who helped spread the word all contributed to the success of the event.”

You can still donate by reaching out to Beaudoin or through their website. The organization’s next fundraiser will be their Diva for a Day ladies golf tournament in June, and they will keep the public updated through social media.
