Lost Love letters: thieves strike Canada Post in Love, Codette
Thieves have robbed residents of two small villages in northeast Saskatchewan by breaking into the post offices in Love and Codette and taking stamps, packages, cash and mail.
The theft in Love, fortunately, missed the Valentine’s Day rush the post office sees as couple’s take advantage of a special cancellation stamp they use on some mail.
RCMP said that on February 17, between 5:30 pm and 6 am the following morning, thieves entered the post office in Love and stole a large number of stamps and a sum of cash.
Again, on February 18 a group of three thieves were caught on surveillance video in Codette, just south of Nipawin, breaking into that post office as well shortly after 3 pm.
