Team Saskatchewan eliminated from Scotties championship contention
Nancy Martin and Team Saskatchewan have been eliminated from playoff contention at the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay.
Despite the team’s 5-3 record heading into the final day of pool play at the tournament, Martin’s rink wasn’t unable to advance because Saskatchewan didn’t have the tiebreaker advantage over the team ahead.
Rachel Homan and Team Canada have a record of 7-0 heading into Thursday’s competition. Kayla Skrlik and her Alberta rink are 5-2, and so is Corryn Brown and British Columbia. Those three teams have clinched the top three spots in Pool A and hold the tiebreaker over Martin because they all beat her rink in pool play.
Saskatchewan is the only team in the tournament to have already played all eight of its games – the final seeding for the playoff round at the Scotties will be decided on Thursday.
