Hawks dominate SJHL POTW

Three Nipawin Hawks earn weekly SJHL awards

A big week for the Nipawin Hawks has left three of their players as SJHL weekly-award recipients.

The Hawks have won four straight, including three on the road this past weekend.

Nipawin beat Weyburn 7-5, Estevan 7-2, and Notre Dame 5-3.

One of the big reasons was the play of Mason Karakochuk, who takes home the SGEU MVP of the Week honours.

Karakochuk had three goals and five assists in those three games, including a four-point night in Estevan.

Teammate Konor Watson is the IKS Media Rookie of the Week, with two goals and six assists in their three weekend wins.

The Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Week is Nipawin product and team captain Finley Radloff.

Radloff had five goals and two assists over the weekend and had two two-goal games during Nipawin’s five game road trip.
