Trojans commit three captains for 2025/26 season

The Tisdale Trojans have added three new players to their team for next season.

All three are currently captains for U15 AA clubs around the province.

The first is Lanigan native Kash Elke, leader of the U15 AA Humboldt Broncos.

Elke, a 2010-born forward is in his second year with the Broncos, recording 59 points in 27 games, which has him top 10 in league scoring. Last season he played a combined 36 games, producing 29 points.

Elke has already donned the Trojan uniform, netting two goals and two assists in six games as an AP this season.

Other accomplishments for the six-foot-two, 165-pound 14-year-old include being named a first-team all-star at the Rocky Mountain U15 AAA Invitational, a second-team all-star at the Graham Tier U15 Challenge, and a Sask First top 34.

Elke’s family also has previous ties to Tisdale, as his mom grew up there.

Next up is Rosthern native Camryn Aebig, of the U15 AA Warman Wildcats.

Aebig, a 2010-born forward is also in his second year suiting up for the Wildcats, the second-place team in the league, where he’s registered 75 points in 27 games, which has him third in league scoring. Last year he competed in 29 contests, where he recorded 29 points.

Aebig has been an AP just once for the Trojans this season, getting his first point by way of an assist.

The five-foot-four, 134-pound 14-year-old is also in the Sask First top 34.

And finally, Porcupine Plain native and current captain for the North East Wolfpack in Melfort, Ethan Janzen has committed.

Janzen, a 2010-forward is 27 games into his second season with the Wolfpack, where he’s the club’s leading scorer with 45 points. Last year in 31 matches, he had 30 points.

Janzen has suited up three times for Tisdale this season, producing a single helper.

The 14-year-old stands in at five-foot-seven and weighs 141 pounds.

The Trojans have now finished their 2024/25 regular season campaign and will begin their first-round playoff series against the Saskatoon Blazers on Monday.
