Best Liquor/Offsale: Melfort Liquor Loft

Winner of the 2025 Best of the Best Award (BOB) for Best Liquor/Offsale, Melfort Liquor Loft not only offers all your favourite refreshments but also an extensive selection of giftware, fine foods and snacks.

Store owner Branelle Zenuk said, “We are a family, a hard-working family who understand the value that hard work brings to the business, and subsequently to our community as a whole.” Zenuk also sees the benefit of being a local business supporting various community initiatives, “The harder we work, the more successful our business becomes, which dominoes into the ability to support many different fundraising and non-profit organizations in and around the Melfort area. We have giving hearts and are always willing to help when asked, in some way, some how.”

Melfort Liquor Loft opened in December of 2020, and while there are other options for people in the city, Zenuk explained what sets them apart, “In this day and age, ‘Mom and Pop’ shops are becoming harder to come by.  Our customers often comment on the tone of our store, they claim it has that warm, personal ‘Mom and Pop’ feel.”  She also pointed out that, “Starting a family business involves a great amount of risk and we are grateful that our risks are paying off.” By experiencing these risks, it has inspired Melfort Liquor Loft to support other family-run, local businesses. “We feel as though we are called to support other local businesses, and we continue to answer that call by offering a wide range of food products from Big Bob’s Meats, TJ’s Pizza, Star City Meats, Baba’s Homestyle Perogies and Aunt Kathy’s.”  Melfort Liquor Loft also supports many other Saskatchewan made products in their liquor and snack selections.

Since its opening, Melfort Liquor Loft has also offered a free ice promotion, whereas anyone who spends over $25, receives a complimentary bag of ice, and if $100 or more is spent, the customer may receive two bags. They also host monthly “Customer Appreciation” draw prizes and all prizes are sponsored by Melfort Liquor Loft.  To continue their support of the community, they focus on purchasing those prizes from other local businesses.  These draws are advertised each month on their social media outlets.

The Melfort Liquor Loft is located at 500 Saskatchewan Drive South in the Stonegate shopping center.
