Equip to Care Campaign

HDHF Equip to Care Campaign starts on Monday

Mar 18, 2025 | 11:25 AM

The Humboldt District Hospital Foundation (HDHF) Equip to Care Campaign is quickly approaching.

The campaign gets underway next Monday at 6 a.m. and continues through Thursday of next week.

Executive Director Lorrie Bunko told northeastNOW they are looking to raise money to go toward $1 million worth of priority equipment.

“We are fundraising for the pharmacy [clean room] upgrade which is a $250,000 campaign for us,” explained Bunko. “The total project is $500,000 but we are sharing the cost with the Ministry of Health.”

The other items on the fundraising list are laparoscopic scopes for the operating room, cub chair lifts, a serofuge, a centrifuge for the lab, a Sonosite transducer for pediatric patients in the emergency room, wheelchairs with tilt seating, and more.

Bunko said this is the 13th annual Equip to Care Campaign, and its importance goes beyond the fundraising aspect.

“It’s an opportunity for us to share with the public the services offered from their healthcare facility,” said Bunko. She added it’s a chance to connect with the public and inform them about their local healthcare facility.

While the campaign may only run four days, the fundraising for the HDHF is year-round.

“We don’t want people to think that it’s just for four days in March that we fundraise for,” Bunko said. The campaign is “mostly about the information and connecting with people.”

Last year’s four-day campaign raised over $150,000.

Donations can be taken by phone at 306-682-4450, or on their website.
