SaskTel’s 5G network is expanding to several local communities.

The company has announced its newly expanded 5G network is coming to nearly 100 cell sites serving rural communities in the province.

“SaskTel’s 5G network is delivering for the people of Saskatchewan by transforming how they connect, work, and access vital services,” said Jeremy Harrison, the minister responsible for SaskTel. “This cutting-edge technology goes beyond faster data speeds — it empowers individuals, businesses, and industries with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world. Whether it’s expanding access to remote healthcare, supporting online learning, or driving innovation in agriculture and transportation, 5G is delivering for our province’s economic growth and future prosperity.”

Among the local communities to receive faster data speeds include Arborfield, Fishing Lake First Nation, Jansen Lake (Mine), Mistatim (North), Naicam, Porcupine Plain, Smeaton (South), Sylvania, Wadena, Watson, White Fox, Zenon Park, and Highway 678 (south of Porcupine Plain).

“We are thrilled to expand our advanced 5G network to more hometowns across Saskatchewan,” said Charlene Gavel, SaskTel President and CEO. “As Saskatchewan’s homegrown communications leader, SaskTel is committed to delivering high-quality communications solutions that allow our customers to connect to what matters most to them, no matter where they live in our province.”

SaskTel customers need to be within a 5G coverage area, have a 5G capable device able to be used on the SaskTel 5G network, and subscribe to a 5G compatible wireless plan.
