The Nipawin Hawks are continuing to bolster their roster for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season that starts in September.

The team announced this week that Airdrie, Alta. product Kaden Skrenek has signed a Letter of Intent to join the club for 2025 – 2026 and beyond. Associate General Manager Dana Dirks said Skrenek plays an all around game.

“He’s a 200-foot player, hard-working guy,” Dirks said of the 6-1 forward. “He plays both ends of the ice, obviously chips in offensively, he is one of those guys that can play both sides.”

Skrenek, 18, played his minor hockey in Airdrie elevating all the way to the AAA U18 Bisons program. He spent three seasons with the U18 club suiting up in 113 games in the regular season and another six in the playoffs. Last year Skrenek scored 13 goals and added 12 assists in 37 games. He was also awarded for his dedication and work ethic by the Bisons. Dirks said Skrenek’s compete level will be welcomed by the organization.
