Plus Industries to benefit from Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign in Melfort

Apr 25, 2025 | 4:00 PM

The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign starts on Monday, April 28.

This year’s beneficiary in Melfort is Plus Industries, with 100 per cent of Smile Cookie purchases going to support the organization.

Assistant Program Coordinator Nadia Coleman told northeastNOW that Plus Industries is excited for the opportunity.

“The Smile Cookie campaign is a great opportunity for our individuals to get to try working in the community at Tim Hortons, and to show our faces to the community and to engage,” Coleman explained, adding the proceeds will also help provide opportunities for the individuals that they might not have otherwise.

The organization was thrilled to hear they’d been chosen for the opportunity, and that a lot of Plus Industries participants haven’t had an opportunity to work a job at a place like Tim Hortons.

“Really just feeling blessed to be able to know that our community is looking out for us and wanting to sponsor us as an organization,” explained Coleman.

Plus Industries works with people with intellectual disabilities, offering a wide variety of day programming, including swimming, crafts, confidential paper shredding, and woodworking.

“We build cutting boards and cheese blocks and clocks or picnic tables, different custom orders.”

Plus also has a contract services department that does summer lawn care and winter snow removal, and they also do paper and cardboard recycling.

The Smile Cookie campaign runs from April 28 to May 2 at Tim Hortons across Canada.
