Golf courses opening

Local golf courses opening for the season over the coming days

Winter is a memory, and golf season is now upon us.

Several local courses are opening over the next two days, including the Golf Club which will open on Thursday at 9 am.

Meanwhile, the Melfort Golf and Country Club will follow suit at noon.

General Manager Kevin Ryhorchuk said it’s exciting to see the course opening.

“The course is booked fairly solid, and [we] are looking forward to a great season,” said Ryhorchuk. “Overall, the course wintered pretty well, [we] just need a good rain and some heat and we’ll be fine.”

Meanwhile, a pair of northeast courses are set to open on Friday.

The Tisdale Riverside Golf Course will open Friday at noon, while the Nipawin Evergreen Golf Course is fully open an hour later.
