Dangerous Person Alert Lifted: Suspect and abduction victim from Island Lake First Nation located

May 16, 2025 | 9:33 AM

As of 3:07 p.m. Friday, the Saskatchewan RCMP issued a release stating that both Michael Bouvier and Jasmin Iron have been located. Iron ‘is safe and being assessed by EMS personnel’, while Bouier has been taken into custody.

While the investigation is still ongoing, investigators thank the public for their assistance in this matter.

Earlier in the day, the Saskatchewan RCMP had issued an emergency alert for a dangerous person after a reported kidnapping on Island Lake First Nation.

Mounties in Loon Lake said 24-year-old Jasmin Iron may have been taken against her will from the reserve, after receiving a report at around 11 p.m. Thursday. Officers responded immediately and believe Iron is with Michael Bouvier, who may be armed with a firearm.

Bouvier, 24, is described as 5’7, 215 lbs with brown eyes and black hair.

The pair may have been travelling in a black Dodge Caravan van with a deflated front tire and Saskatchewan licence plate 580 LXY. In an update a few hours later, investigators determined Bouvier may also have access to a second vehicle — a 2009 black Dodge Journey SUV with licence plate 412 NPF.

Their current whereabouts are unknown, but police say they may be heading toward the Loon Lake area.

RCMP are urging the public not to approach either the individual or vehicle if spotted, as the man is believed to be armed. Officers from nearby RCMP detachments and the Critical Incident Response Team are assisting in the search, and residents may notice an increased police presence in the area.

Iron is described as 5’6” and 110 pounds with light brown dyed hair typically worn in a ponytail, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a burgundy hoodie, blue jeans, and black-and-white Converse runners. She has a feather tattoo with script on her forearm.

Anyone with information on the vehicles, Bouvier or Iron’s whereabouts is asked to call 310-RCMP or 911 in an emergency. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
