Red Earth Cree Nation shooting suspects arrested

Both men wanted after a shooting on Red Earth Cree Nation last weekend have been arrested, but not without difficulty.

Carrot River RCMP found one of the wanted men at Red Earth on Thursday, but the suspect pointed a sawed-off shotgun at the officer then ran into a nearby forest.

No shots were fired.

He was soon arrested without further incident and the firearm and a can of bear spray were seized.

Gregory Whitehead faces eight additional charges following the incident during his arrest.

Harvey Whitehead was arrested the following day, and both men will be in court on Monday.

The two men were wanted after a man was shot at a home on Red Earth May 17.

He sustained serious injuries.

Both men face eight charges in relation to that incident.
