Child death on Shoal Lake Cree Nation investigated as homicide

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes are investigating the death of a child on Shoal Lake Cree Nation as a homicide.
Police say Carrot River RCMP were called to the reserve at around 7 p.m. Friday for a report that a child under the age of 10 had been seriously injured at a home.
Officers responded immediately and upon arrival, located an unresponsive child inside. Life saving measures were performed, however, they were pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.
A suspect was identified and arrested, and police say the victim and suspect were known to each other.
