Fire destroys house in Wadena

A fire that torched a home in Wadena is under investigation.

The Wadena Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at around 9:50 p.m. Friday for a structure fire along Main Street (Highway 35).

Upon arrival, crews found a home fully engulfed in flames, which sat next to a gas station. They used multiple trucks to help topple the fire, while local RCMP controlled traffic and SaskEnergy disconnected the gas meter and cut off service.

The Department also successfully managed to cool a fuel delivery truck and some nearby fuel tanks after the fire was extinguished.
