Fire ban issued for RM of Kelvington; Melfort fire ban still in place
The extreme wildfire conditions have led to another fire ban being implemented.
The Rural Municipality (RM) of Kelvington No. 366 has implemented a fire ban due to the warm, dry, and windy conditions.
“No person shall light, or start or allow or cause to be lighted, ignited or started a fire of any kind whatsoever in the open air, this includes without limitation controlled burns, burning barrel fires, recreational fires or smudge fires but does not include CSA-approved self-contained heating devices or pressurized stoves,” the news release stated.
Meanwhile, the fire ban for Melfort and the immediate surrounding area remains in effect.
