Another local community has issued a fire ban.

This time, it’s the Town of Tisdale.

“Effective immediately, the Town of Tisdale is enacting a comprehensive fire ban within town limits to address the heightened risk of wildfires resulting from prolonged dry conditions and elevated temperatures,” their social media post read.

All outdoor fires are strictly prohibited until further notice. That includes open fires in fire pits or burning barrels, controlled burns, or fireworks.

Propane, natural gas, pellet, or briquette-fueled cooking equipment, propane or natural gas fire pits and tables, and indoor household fireplaces are not part of the ban.

“The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) has reported an extreme fire risk across much of the province, with a significant increase in human-caused wildfires,” the post read. “Implementing this fire ban is a necessary measure to protect lives, property, and natural resources from potential wildfire threats.”

The town went on to thank residents for their understanding.
