Wildfire smoke leading to Air Quality Warning for large portion of northeastern Saskatchewan
Much of northeastern Saskatchewan is under an Air Quality Warning.
Environment and Climate Change Canada issued the warning today as smoke continues to cause very poor air quality and reduced visibility in some areas.
“Conditions are expected to remain poor for most areas through the week,” the alert stated. “Air quality and visibility due to wildfire smoke can fluctuate over short distances and can vary considerably from hour to hour.”
The alert is in effect in a large area including north of Tobin Lake, Cumberland House and Creighton all the way to the Manitoba border north to the Wollaston Lake area. The affected area also stretches west all the way to the Big River region.
