Daily Wildfire Update: more wildfires contained, value of loss at Denare Beach remains unclear
The latest update from the Saskatchewan Public Safety offers a mixed bag of news.
On one hand, as of 11 a.m. on Tuesday, there were 13 active wildfires in the province and of those, six were categorized as contained, three not contained, two are ongoing assessment and two are listed as ‘protecting values’.
On Monday, five fires were listed as not contained. This year, Saskatchewan has had 256 wildfires, which is well above the five-year average of 156 to date.
Due to favourable weather conditions, the provincial fire ban has been revoked.
