Town Hall Meeting in Tisdale

Jun 17, 2025 | 10:34 AM

The Town of Tisdale is hosting a Town Hall Meeting tonight at the Maruice Taylor Performing Arts Theatre inside the RECplex.

Chief Administrative Officer Lovely Magnaye said one of her key advocacies is community engagement.

“Hosting a town hall meeting marks the beginning of many future initiatives aimed at providing open dialogue and active participation,” Magnaye told northeastNOW. “We believe that by involving our residents in shaping the direction of our town, we can work together to help Tisdale grow.”

Magnaye said Council and Administration would like to allow taxpayers to hear updates from the Town, ask questions, share ideas, and directly engage with the decision makers in the community.

“We believe in a collaborative approach and value hearing directly from our community.”

Public input is needed, according to Magnaye, as it helps ensure there is support and buy-in for projects and initiatives that Council and Administration plan to take now and in the future. The feedback also allows the Town to learn more about what Tisdale residents want as key priorities going forward.

Magnaye expects the meeting to centre on topics facing many communities, including physician retention, future capital projects, economic development, and public safety. Another topic that may surface is the recent defacing of a Pride crossing with a swastika. The Town and Mayor Roy Skoglund have pledged money for information that could lead to finding the person(s) responsible.

Council will be introduced at the meeting prior to the question-and-answer portion, and residents can still submit their questions by contacting the Town Office or Magnaye at cao@tisdale.ca.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
