Construction worker from Alberta dead after Saskatoon crane collapse
An Alberta construction worker died and another worker was injured after a crane collapsed at a work site in Saskatoon on Saturday.
Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said in a news release on Sunday that the 30-year-old man who died was from Fort Saskatchewan, AB, and his next of kin had been notified. They also said the injured man was aged 37 and did not say where he was from and provided no information on his injuries.
SPS said they were called to the site on Webster Street in the Forest Grove neighbourhood at 9:40 a.m. on July 5 and gave no further details.
The construction site is next to Forest Grove Community Church, and the site of a rental community development called The Hadley, being built by WestCliff Properties, a Saskatoon based real estate development, investment and management company.
