Multiple vehicle fires and motor vehicle collision in one week for Nipawin Fire Department

The Nipawin Fire Department had a fairly normal week when it comes to the workload they had, but the nature of their calls from Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18th attracted a lot of attention.

On Monday, the NFD responded to a two vehicle collision. Fire Chief Paul Cockell confirmed over the phone that nobody was hurt.

In the middle of the week, the NFD responded to two separate vehicle fires. The first happened on Tuesday, the second on Thursday, but no one was hurt in either of those incidents as well.

On Friday was what Cockell described as the ‘most excitement’ of the week when they invited nearly 30 kids into the fire hall for a tour as part of Nipawin’s Summer Play Program.

Also throughout the week, the NFD received a number of miscellaneous calls that included a nuisance fire, a false alarm, and sharp object removal.
