Aug 15, 2025 | 10:25 AM

Several agriculture retailer stores are moving over to the Co-op brand.

In 2021, Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) purchased a majority stake in the six retail locations owned and operated by the Blair’s Family of Companies , creating a joint venture with the Blair’s family called, Blair’s Crop Solutions (BCS).

FCL recently purchased all of the remaining shares and are selling the six BCS ag retail locations to four local Co-ops.

  • Prairie Co-op will acquire the McLean Ag retail location.
  • Riverbend Co-op will acquire the Nokomis and Lanigan Ag retail locations.
  • Moose Jaw Co-op will acquire the Liberty Ag retail location.
  • Saskatoon Co-op will acquire the Rosthern and Watrous Ag retail locations.
  • In addition to the Ag retail acquisitions, Riverbend Co-op will acquire an ammonia bullet in Davidson and Lake Country Co-op will acquire an ammonia bullet in Petrofka.

Kevin Blair, CEO of BFC, said this is the culmination of more than 75 years of the Blair family in the Ag retail business.

“With the sale to Co-op, we know we have found a partner who will be dedicated to service, share our passion for our customers and whose values are firmly rooted in community,” Blair said. “We know Co-op will bring the knowledge, expertise and dedication our customers have come to expect and deserve.”

Blair said once the transition is complete, BCS customers can expect the same service, agronomic advice and expanded farm fuel service, as well as the ability to for members to use their Co-op number for their purchases.

The local Co-ops will officially assume operation of the Blair’s locations on Sept. 2.
