Residents in the St. Louis area, about half an hour south of Prince Albert, may have heard a loud noise this afternoon, followed by a large cloud of dust.
SaskEnergy has confirmed a line hit causing a natural gas release at a worksite located half a kilometre north of the community of St. Louis at approximately 12 p.m. today.
A spokesperson said an excavator being used by a contractor is what hit the line.
Onsite crews have isolated the line and stopped the release and SaskEnergy said repairs will be launched immediately.
