Metro Vancouver hockey coach faces sex charges over ‘historical’ allegations

NEW WESTMINSTER — A Metro Vancouver hockey coach has been charged with sexual assault, interference and exploitation stemming from an investigation into “historical” allegations dating back to 2008.
New Westminster police say the allegations against 58-year-old Ronald Veit of Surrey have not been proven in court, and he’s out of custody on a number of conditions.
Police say the charges stem from alleged offences between September 2008 to May 2012 in Langley, Surrey, New Westminster, Coquitlam and Burnaby.
They say Veit has been released on several conditions, including no contact with anyone under the age of 18 without parents or guardians being present.
