Busy weekend for Trojans, Outback Thunder, Wolfpack

The Tisdale Trojans split a pair of games against the Saskatoon Blazers on the weekend.

They dropped the first game 4-3 on Saturday.

Carter Hudyma, Jacob Tait, and Camryn Aebig scored the Trojans’ goals.

Tisdale earned a 3-2 victory at home the following day.

Jacob Tait scored twice, and Carter Hudyma netted the winner in the third period.

Wyatt Fleischhacker made 34 saves in the win.

The Trojans are 6-6-1 on the season and will visit the Warman Wildcats on Wednesday.

A pair of victories on the weekend for the PJHL’s Carrot River Outback Thunder.

They opened with a 6-2 win Friday against the Moosomin Steelhawks.

Cash Aasen and Dylon Clarke each scored twice, while Ryan MacGillvray and A.J. Trew added singles.

Hunter Nakonechny made 27 saves for the Thunder, who followed up that win with a 5-4 victory over the Extreme Hockey Regina Capitals on Saturday.

The Thunder stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the first, on goals from Chase Taylor, Rhett Lubda, and Rylan MacGillvray.

After the Capitals tied the game in the second, Dawson Malinowski scored to make it 4-3 Carrot River after two.

Regina tied the game in the third, but Nolan Holmen played the hero, scoring the winner with just 39 seconds left.

Dominic Smith earned the win in net, making 28 saves.

The Thunder improve to 5-4-0-1 on the season, and will host Pilot Butte on Friday.

The North East U18 AA Wolfpack split their weekend road games.

They lost 4-3 to the Saskatoon Crunch on Sunday.

Hayle Dennis scored twice, while Cruz Reed had the other Wolfpack goal.

The Wolfpack opened the weekend with a 5-4 overtime win over the Northwest Stars.

Taylor Coleman had the OT winner, his second of the game.

John Friesen, Nixon Coleman, and Jonas Markwart also scored for the Wolfpack.
