Some important news for the Town of Tisdale.

Its new fire truck has arrived after years of planning and saving money.

On Oct. 27, city council authorized the transfer of $744,290 from the fire protection reserve account for the purchase of the new truck, and up to $120,000 for the purchase of equipment for the truck.

“This important investment enhances our community’s safety and ensures our fire department is well-equipped to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies within Tisdale and our surrounding areas,” the Town of Tisdale posted on its social media sites.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Tisdale Fire Department, our dedicated volunteer firefighters for their tireless commitment, countless hours of training, and unwavering service to our community. Your courage and dedication make Tisdale a safer place to live, work, and raise our families.”

The Town also stated that the purchase reflects the community’s shared commitment to safety, progress, and teamwork.

“Together, we continue to build a stronger and more resilient Tisdale.”

The department serves Tisdale and several neighbouring communities, including the RM of Tisdale, RM of Connaught, RM of Pleasantdale, Village of Valparaiso, and Kipabiskau Regional Park.
