Offensive Explosion

Mustangs blow out Ice Wolves 8-1

Nov 16, 2025 | 9:55 PM

The Melfort Mustangs finally got all the breaks on Saturday night, which led to an offensive explosion.

Melfort took down the La Ronge Ice Wolves by a blowout score of 8-1.

“We haven’t been getting a lot of bounces lately, and we had been working all week building towards better results on offence, so it’s great to see the puck finally going in for us,” explained defenceman Bo Eisner.

“We got the fore check going, forwards did a great job, they were banging and crashing all night, and that just led to a lot more ozone time. We got a lot more opportunities, and they started going in, and we just kept the pressure on.”

The Mustangs had two great efforts on the weekend, yielding a victory and promise for the future.

Eisner said the team has to continue this pace forward if they want to get back to club standards.

“The message has just been consistency, we brought our efforts both nights, and although it didn’t work out Friday night, we brought consistent effort, and that’s the result that we’re gonna get when we play like that,” Eisner added.

“We can’t let the foot off the gas, we have to keep going and keep building on this. We’re gonna have to bang and crash in the zoo next weekend, so it should be a good one.”

The Blue and Green will begin a home-and-home set with the Flin Flon Bombers on Friday.
