Medals for the Melfort Judo Club at competition in Watrous

The Melfort Judo Club (MJC) was well-represented at Judo Saskatchewan’s first competition of the season.

The event was hosted by the Watrous Ju-No-Ri Judo club this weekend, with 104 athletes from across Saskatchewan participating.

In the Ne Waza competition:

Brody Hiebert of the Melfort Judo Club took home bronze in the 66 kg and under category, while Wyatt Hiebert won silver in the 81 kg and under.

In U12 Male action, the Melfort Judo Club’s Chris Connolly won gold in Pool B, and Eli Wood and Cade Phillips of the MJC each won gold in Pool C.

In Tachi Waza competition:

Omar Alidrissi of the MJC won gold in the under 50/55 kg category.

In the U18 male competition, Brody Hiebert took home silver in the under 66 kg category.

U12 Male Tachi Waza saw Cade Phillips earn a gold in Pool A.

In Senior Male action, Wyatt Hiebert won gold in the under 73 kg category.

Braeden Street took silver in under 90 kg, while Keenan Magis won silver and Riley Phillips the bronze in the under 100 kg category.
