A 29-year-old man from Tisdale is facing a laundry list of charges after a drug trafficking investigation yielded roughly 20 pounds of various drugs and multiple firearms.

It all started on Tuesday, Dec. 9, when the RCMP and Prince Albert Police Crime Reduction Teams, along with RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team, executed a search warrant at a home in Peesane, roughly 33 km east of Tisdale, as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

While searching the home, officers seized 3.9 kilograms of cocaine, 4.8 kilograms of methamphetamine, a loaded handgun, two sawed-off firearms, a semi-automatic long gun, an assault-style firearm, ammunition, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and $50,000 in cash.

As that was happening, police arrested a man at a business on 2nd Avenue West in Prince Albert. A search of the man’s vehicle found an additional 183 grams of crack cocaine, 93 grams of cocaine, 56 grams of methylenedioxyamphetamine (ecstasy), 21 grams of methamphetamine, and a second loaded handgun.

Following investigation, police have charged Triston Lundgren from Tisdale with various drug trafficking and firearms-related offences, including possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number and possession for the purpose of trafficking. In total, Lundgren is facing 11 different charges with varying counts.

“This investigation highlights the strength and importance of working together,” says Insp. Craig Mushka, the Inspector in charge of Support Services for the Prince Albert Police Service. “The partnership between the Prince Albert Police Service and the RCMP Crime Reduction Teams demonstrates that illegal drug and firearm activity doesn’t stop at jurisdictional lines.”

Lundgren appeared in Melfort Provincial Court on Dec. 11 and is back in court on Dec. 18.
