Police remove 106 impaired drivers from Sask. roads during targeted enforcement week

They are statistics that display a significant problem in Saskatchewan.
In a single week, police conducting traffic operations across the province as part of National Safe Driving Week and National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day (Dec. 6) stopped 4,446 vehicles. Of those drivers, 106 had consumed alcohol and/or drugs prior to driving.
In a press release, Insp. Lee Knelsen, Operations Officer of Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Services, said, “Statistics show that impairment was a contributing factor in 30 per cent of fatal collisions on Saskatchewan roads in 2025. We’re in this with you; we will continue to be on the road and test drivers. During this holiday season, when celebrations are a given, simply do not drive when you plan on drinking or using drugs.”
