Trojans sweep weekend, Thunder split, Wolfpack drop lone game

The Tisdale Trojans swept a pair of games against the cellar-dwellers in AAA hockey over the weekend.

The Trojans edged the Notre Dame Hounds 3-2 on Saturday.

Carter Hudyma and Tristan Hanson scored in the first to make it 2-0, while Jacob Tait scored the winner with just over five minutes remaining after Notre Dame tied the game in the second period.

Tait ended up with a goal and two assists, while Jackson Dunn stopped 24 shots.

The Trojans beat Notre Dame 2-1 in a shootout on Sunday.

Riley Laberge scored Tisdale’s goal in regulation, and Camryn Aebig scored the shootout winner.

Wyatt Fleishhacker made 25 saves for the Trojans, who move to 12-14-1 on the season.

Tisdale will travel to take on the Saskatoon Blazers on Thursday.

In the PJHL, the Carrot River Outback Thunder split their games on the weekend.

They blanked the Prince Albert Thunderjaks 2-0 on Saturday.

Hunter Nakonechny stopped 38 shots in the shutout, while Gavin Bodnarchuk and Jaylen Knelsen scored for the Thunder.

Carrot River lost 5-1 to Martensville on Sunday.

Knelsen scored the lone Thunder goal, and Nakonechny made 36 saves.

Carrot River is now 10-13-0-1, and they will host the Saskatoon Royals on Friday.

The North East U18 AA Wolfpack dropped a 5-4 decision to the Prince Albert Lake Country Co-op Timberwolves in Hudson Bay on Saturday.

Zack Kirkland, Beau Hayworth, Nixon Coleman, and Ethan Janzen were the goal scorers for the Wolfpack, and Kane Huston made 56 saves.

The Wolfpack fell to 5-10-0-1.

They will Warman on Saturday in Nipawin before travelling to Martensville on Sunday to close out the 2025 portion of their season.
