Nipawin snow removal update

Town of Nipawin issues snow removal update after equipment breakdown

Jan 5, 2026 | 2:38 PM

The Town of Nipawin has issued an update on their snow removal efforts.

“Over the Christmas break, we ran into an unexpected grader breakdown just as we started receiving a large amount of snowfall,” a news release from General Manager of Operations and Engineering Services Jamie Fast read. “Because of this, some areas may have taken longer than usual to be cleared.”

The release said that crews are working long hours and are trying to get caught up as quickly as possible.

“We truly appreciate everyone’s patience while they continue this work,” said the update.

The Town is asking residents to keep vehicles off the streets whenever possible, and to bring in waste and recycling bins as soon as possible after pickup, to allow snow removal crews to do their jobs more efficiently.

“For safety reasons, please keep a safe distance from snow removal equipment. If crews are actively clearing snow on your street, using an alternate route when possible helps keep them moving.”

The Town also previously asked residents not to push snow from their property onto the streets.
