Fire in RM of Hudson Bay

Shop lost to fire southwest of Hudson Bay

A fire in the RM of Hudson Bay claimed a shop building.

The blaze started Sunday morning at a rural property southwest of Hudson Bay.

The structure was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived, and it eventually collapsed into itself.

Firefighters worked to protect nearby property, including a camper, tractor, greenhouse, and a trailer that were all near the building.

Damage to the surrounding property was minimalized, and the department said the plastic on the nearby greenhouse melted.
